Wilderness to mossel Bay
Day 5 – A day of relaxed pedling
After a wake-up uphill from Wilderness along a beautiful coastline to George and through a fun township with kids playing on the streets, joking around with her, she ended up in the town centre which reminded her of a wild west scene. There at a cafe she relaxed for maybe a bit too long.
So she ended up in Mossel Bay already in the dark.
70 km and 580 m ascent between Wilderness and Mossel Bay.
Starting on her ascent to George, a young man in a pickup stopped and gave her Rand 200 for food. She probably looked like she was really struggling and sleeping rough with all her luggage.
She told him that she was actually on a fundraising trip and the money will go towards education.
On her way on this slightly chilly day she had time to watch a great number of different birds, including vultures and enjoy the vegetation.
George is an interesting town, one that might be great to check out a bit more closely, a town of different communities, a town which seemed real compared to some more secluded and exclusive towns she had travelled through.
